Georgia
faces a growing high school dropout crisis that is part of a national
problem. Dropout warning signals can occur as early as sixth grade.
Across the nation, states and school districts are stepping outside of
business as usual to create solutions that others can use! We know that
programs and stakeholders can join together to maximize efforts in
dropout prevention - if they all know what is being done, what works and
what gaps exist. By attending this Summit, you can be a part of the solution in our community:
- Hear the latest statistics about the dropout crisis in Georgia and Atlanta
- Discuss statewide and local dropout prevention strategies and network with other organizations active in this effort
- Learn how effective models work in other states to help insure that young people are successful in school, work and life
