As America celebrates its 250th birthday this year, GPB’s new series Marked! delves into the pivotal role Georgia played during the Revolutionary period. With more than 2,000 roadside historical markers spread across our state, Marked! focuses on twelve to explore the people, places and moments that help to tell the larger Georgia story. Join host Maiya May for this look at the unique, complex and important role of the 13th original colony.

Three stories reveal how mental health care is evolving. Researchers are testing brain stimulation treatment for PTSD, communities are learning life-saving suicide prevention skills and children with anxiety are making rapid progress through a therapeutic summer camp. Together, the stories point to new hope for healing.

This documentary unravels the mysterious life of George Masa, a Japanese immigrant whose extraordinary photographs helped define the identity of the Great Smoky Mountains. Filmed across Japan, the Pacific Northwest and the Blue Ridge, this is a story of passion, loss and the redemptive power of art and place.

Discover W.E.B. Du Bois’s remarkable life from his birth, just five years after the Emancipation Proclamation, to his death, on the eve of the March on Washington in 1963, and how his legacy as an activist continues to resonate today.
