On Thursday, June 12, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4, the Rescissions Act of 2025, which would rescind the previously appropriated FY 2026 and FY 2027 funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB). The rescissions package now goes to the Senate for consideration, where it could be amended or voted on as is. CPB funding is essential for local public media stations like GPB, and we need the support of our viewers and listeners. GPB presents the 2025 King Celebration Concert with The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Ebenezer Baptist Church. The concert highlights various musical genres, featuring works from Gregory Porter, Carlos Simon, Joel Thompson, Thomas A. Dorsey and Kurt Carr.
